How to Get Runes in Elden Ring

Runes, similar to Souls in previous FromSoftware titles, serve as both experience points and currency in this game. While Runes can be earned through defeating enemies and bosses, there are ways for the player to increase their earning potential even further.

An effective way to collect runes quickly is by visiting Caelid, a dangerous area near the start of the game. To reach Caelid, head south from Lake Agheel towards Dragon-Burnt Ruins.

1. Go to Caelid

Runes are an invaluable asset in Elden Ring, serving both as currency and experience points for leveling weapons and character progression. Players can earn runes by fighting monsters and bosses - although there are passive ways of earning runes as well, such as near the Foot of Forge Site of Grace where there may be plenty to collect without much conflict required!

Simply walk north of the fort and look over the cliff edge - there will be an intimidating bird enemy nearby that gives out over 1,000 runes for every kill, making this method one of the fastest and easiest ways to gain runes quickly in Elder Ring. For optimal results, invest in a Golden Scarab Talisman as this will increase rune acquisition by 20%; to speed things up even more use Sacred Relic Sword with its special attack that allows for quick rune accumulation!

2. Fight Dragons

One of the fastest ways to gain elden ring runes quickly in Elden Ring is by fighting dragons that roam its terrain. There are various spots you can do this, with Fort Faroth in Caelid being our personal favourite; here you can target either Troll Warrior for quick rewards, or go all-out and kill Mother Dragon, earning yourself up to 80,000 runes in return.

For this rune farming spot to work properly, you will first need to have reached and defeated Godrick the Grafted, as well as unlocking horse Torrent. Once in this area, simply follow the steps towards Palace Approach Ledge-Road site of grace while killing off enemies who chase after you; they are passive until attacked and can be defeated quickly with area-of-effect weapons or ranged attacks; then rinse and repeat until all available runes have been acquired.

3. Fight Troll Warriors

Caelid's Dragon-Burnt Ruins in Caelid are one of the top rune farming spots in Elden Ring, though you cannot access it until defeating Queen Rennala and having access to Torrent. Before venturing there, however, consider first exploring another rune farming location that may be closer. Individuals with expectations to know about Elden Ring Runes and other details can feel free to visit here.

Stormhill area west of Limgrave holds the Site of Grace where you can hunt five huge Troll warriors that each drop one thousand runes when killed - more challenging than fighting dragons but yielding far greater rune rewards per kill!

If you're looking for an easier way to farm elden ring runes without taking too many risks or losing progress, killing the Dwarven Explorers near Site of Grace offers plenty of runes; additionally, picking up Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot at Patches will boost your rune count when consumed.

4. Go to the Site of Grace

There's an incredible rune farm that most players don't even realize exists - though you'll only become aware of it later in the game. Once you have defeated Godrick and collected one of the Great Rune Arcs (which provide powerful buffs when activated), head to Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace for access.

Here you'll encounter many sleeping Albinauric enemies worth 2000 runes each. These sleeping foes won't react until attacked; otherwise they are quite easy to dispatch with an arrow shot directly to their heads.

Early and midgame players alike will likely find this an excellent rune farming spot; killing monsters here yields over one thousand runes in less than a minute! Even later in the game when strong enough, this location becomes even better; when completing Varre's player-versus-player questline or making it to Mohgwyn Palace for its massive PvP battles your Great Runes from these questlines will arrive uncharged and grey at Site of Grace!
